About Bran Castle: Bran Castle, often referred to as “Dracula’s Castle,” is a historic fortress located in Transylvania, Romania. Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, it is both a symbol of Romanian cultural heritage and a world-renowned tourist destination. This is a full-time position based in Bran, Romania.

Position Overview:

Reporting into the Director, the Assistant General Manager, Bran Castle oversees daily operations, ensuring a seamless visitor experience by managing staff, scheduling events, and coordinating operations. This role involves budgeting and financial planning to maintain the castle's sustainability, while also fostering partnerships with local organizations and cultural institutions. Additionally, the assistant manager is responsible for employee training and development, performance evaluations, and cultivating a culture of excellence and engagement among staff. By blending operational efficiency with a passion for art and history, the assistant general manager plays a vital role in enhancing the museum's impact within the community.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the castle’s daily operations, including admissions, staffing, maintenance, and event coordination to ensure smooth functionality.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to ensure the castle's profitability and long-term sustainability.
• Optimize existing partnerships and seek new sponsorship and retail opportunities to enhance the castle's revenue streams.
• Recruit, train, and develop a diverse team of staff, including tour guides, retail personnel, and administrative support, ensuring they embody the castle's values.
• Oversee employee performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and support for career development and advancement.
• Implement training programs focused on historical knowledge, customer service excellence, and cultural preservation to enhance staff capabilities and guest experiences.
• Manage the events calendar, employee scheduling, and rotation to ensure efficient coverage and optimal guest engagement.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in hospitality, restaurant operations, tourism, or related field.
• Fluency in Romanian and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong understanding of cultural preservation and Romanian history.
