Job description:

The Automation Engineer is responsible for optimizing and ensuring the reliable operation of production equipment and installations. The role involves diagnosing and resolving electrical and automation issues, implementing preventive maintenance strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

Job responsibilities:

• Continuously improve and optimize maintenance activities within the assigned area.
• Monitor the proper operation of production machinery and installations.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and electronic faults in equipment, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, as well as in supplier-organized training sessions.
• Collaborate with production teams to detect and eliminate electrical issues, proposing sustainable preventive solutions.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance concepts and update related documentation.
• Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and interventions to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Interpret and work with electrical network schematics in compliance with specific technical requirements.
• Perform basic corrective actions on metering systems (e.g., meter replacement, reversed phase sequence, tele-reading modem power supply).
• Build and maintain secondary circuits in electrical systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of machines, tools, and installations.
• Liaise with suppliers (through the procurement department) to ensure minimal equipment downtime and timely availability of spare parts.
• Develop and update software programs for end-of-line (EOL) testing equipment.
• Design and implement custom workstations or testing devices.
• Perform repairs on auxiliary devices (e.g., displays, PLC cards).
• Prepare and deliver maintenance reports in a structured and timely manner.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, or related technical field.
• Solid knowledge of PLCs and automation systems.
• Understanding of electrohydraulics and electropneumatics.
• Strong grasp of general electrical engineering principles.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of programmable systems.
• Programming skills in STEP 7 (Siemens).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Intermediate level of English).
• Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
