Lead the development and management of certain commodity strategies designed to leverage collective purchasing power and maximize synergistic opportunities to optimize supplier performance, reduced total supply costs while meeting total Supply Chain objectives, to include inventory reduction and management. Provide leadership in the communication, implementation, coordination and enforcement of commodity strategies that support the overall Global Supply Chain strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate new and existing contracts and issue blanket and spot purchase orders
• Develop commodity purchasing strategies that support Global Supply Chain Strategies
• Collaborate with other functions and assist in developing suppliers
• Maintain aggressive cost containment programs
• Develop deferred tooling expense budgets for assigned commodities based on quality, delivery cost, service and reliability requirements
• Prepare requests for quotes for multi-year full production quantities
• Lead reduction of overall cost of purchased parts through sourcing, process or tooling improvements, productivity gains, and AIF schedules
• Support global purchasing activities
• Support all business regions within assigned commodities
• Explore and aggressively pursue cost reduction opportunities
• Explore available and new technologies in the market and implement best practices related to purchasing activities
• Develop new suppliers that meet cost, quality and delivery requirements
• Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality, and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies
• Participate in purchasing related internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management
• Maintain complex spreadsheets containing supply base data, including piece prices breakdown, part weight, volumes, supplier names, long range planning information
• Understand and adhere to purchasing and quality control policies

Education:

Experience:

• Minimum 5 Years in a purchasing role, in a manufacturing environment
• Negotiation Experience
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Power BI
• PLEX or IFS experience a plus
• Legal and/or customs experience a plus
• Communication skills
• Automotive experience is required
• Ability to add value, reduce costs, and make business improvements
