Hendrickson is a leading global manufacturer of suspension systems and components for the commercial vehicle industry. Hendrickson Romania in Sibiu is part of Hendrickson's European network and employs over 300 people producing components for international customers.
The role:
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the plant's engineering team and be responsible for product and process engineering, new product introductions support and continuous improvement of our manufacturing technologies. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Project Management and our European engineering centers.
Key responsibilities
•Lead, develop and motivate the engineering team (process, product and maintenance/tooling engineers)
•Own manufacturing processes, technical documentation (drawings, PFMEA, control plans, work instructions) and engineering changes
•Manage new product introductions support and launches using APQP/PPAP methodology
•Drive process improvements to increase productivity, quality and cost-efficiency
•Plan and manage CAPEX projects, equipment purchases and line installations
•Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for technical and quality issues
•Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, health & safety and environmental standards
•Act as the technical contact for customers, suppliers and group engineering
What we're looking for
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
•7+ years of engineering experience in automotive or heavy industry manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
•Solid knowledge of metal processing technologies (laminating, machining, heat treatment, welding or similar)
•Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and Lean / Six Sigma tools
•Fluent English; German is a plus
•Strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills
