1. Technical Design & Execution Verification
 Design Validation: Conduct a thorough review of the technical design, geotechnical reports, and
execution details to ensure they are feasible and compliant with the Works Contract and national
tunnel-boring standards.
 Geological Mapping: Perform real-time geological mapping of the tunnel face to categorize rock
or soil types as excavation progresses.
 Monitoring & Instrumentation: Supervise the installation and data analysis of geotechnical
instrumentation to monitor ground movement and pore water pressure.
2. Compliance & Quality Assurance
 Specification Adherence: Ensure all materials used for tunnel lining and stabilization meet the
project’s technical specifications.
 Hydrogeological Oversight: Monitor groundwater inflows and ensure that drainage and
waterproofing systems are installed according to the execution details to prevent long-term
structural degradation.
3. Strategic Support & Ad-hoc Coordination
 Stakeholder management: Collaborate with the Beneficiary, Project Manager, and local
Authorities to provide technical justifications for any design deviations required by unforeseen
ground conditions.
 Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all geological activities are documented and performed in
accordance with legal provisions in the field of construction and environmental protection.
 Risk Mitigation: Actively participate in risk assessment meetings to predict and prevent
geological hazards such as cave-ins, water bursts, or gas pockets.
Technical Qualifications & Experience
 Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnics, or Mining Engineering.
 Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in tunnel construction and geotechnical interpretation is
essential.
 Software Proficiency: Experience with geotechnical modeling software
