Our client, a leading beauty retailer, is seeking an experienced Consultant to partner with our Internal Audit & Control team to enhance analytics, automation, and reporting capabilities. This role will help elevate the maturity of the Internal Control function by delivering audit-grade data, scalable dashboards, and automated solutions, while enabling the team to independently sustain these capabilities long-term. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that combines Power BI expertise, automation, and an Internal Audit / Internal Control mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership.

**Please note this is a hybrid, 3–6-month contract role based in San Francisco, CA. Pay will be $70-$80/hr.**

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards across Internal Control programs (e.g., store audit, T&E)
• Design executive-level summaries and operational drill-down views
• Establish KPI definitions, calculation logic, and reporting standards
• Analyze large datasets to identify control gaps, anomalies, and non-compliance
• Surface trends and root cause insights to support remediation
• Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations
• Build and optimize workflows using Power Automate (alerts, approvals, exception routing)
• Support development of AI-enabled solutions to detect risk patterns
• Partner cross-functionally to integrate data sources and improve workflows
• Create SOPs for dashboards, datasets, and automation workflows
• Build reusable templates and reporting frameworks
• Provide hands-on training to enable internal teams’ post-engagement
• Deliver analyses, dashboards, and insights for evolving business needs
• Support special projects, pilots, and emerging risk initiatives
• Act as a thought partner on Internal Control improvements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in Internal Audit, Internal Control, or Finance
• 3+ years supporting data-driven audit, analytics, or automation initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field)
• Master’s degree preferred
• Certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE preferred
• Power BI certification (PL-300) is a plus
• Experience in retail or consumer goods is a plus
• Advanced Power BI (dashboarding, data modeling, DAX)
• Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R
• Experience with Power Automate and/or AI-driven analytics
• Deep understanding of internal controls, audit frameworks, and compliance
• Ability to translate data into executive-level insights
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Hands-on, self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities
