Role Description

Longwoods International has an opening for a Manager, Client Engagement, to join its team. This role reports to the Vice President of Client Engagement and collaborates with the entire client-facing team. This full-time position is responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with assigned accounts and providing support to the Client Engagement team, ensuring our clients maximize the value of Longwoods’ research and insights in their marketing, planning, and stakeholder communications. On the business development side, responsibilities will include renewing existing client accounts and supporting new business development efforts as assigned


Key responsibilities:

 

Client & Project Management

  • Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with an assigned portfolio of clients, serving as a primary point of contact.
  • Engage and support clients in the execution, management, and delivery of research projects from initiation through final reporting, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Assist in the analysis and summarization of key findings, translating research results into clear, actionable insights for client stakeholders.
  • Present and walk through research reports in detail, ensuring clients experience the Longwoods International “gold standard” service.

 

Team & Operational Support

  • Support the Client Engagement team through administrative tasks such as agreement generation, managing internal filing systems, and maintaining up-to-date records in internal systems.
  • Occasionally serve as a brand ambassador for Longwoods via attendance at industry gatherings, conferences, and client events, as assigned.

 

Qualifications & experience:

  • Travel and tourism industry experience required, and demonstrated experience working with or within destination marketing organizations (DMO’s) is preferred.
  • 2–3 years of proven account management experience (including renewals and business development) and experience analyzing and interpreting market research and/or data, preferably in travel/tourism.
  • Experience translating client needs into research proposals, scopes of work, and/or tailored reporting and presentation deliverables.
  • Excellent project and relationship management skills.
  • Client-focused mindset with a strong interest in understanding client goals, use cases, and success measures to deepen relationships.
  • Proven presentation skills.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, social sciences, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (required).
  • Master’s degree in a related field (preferred but not required).


Skills and competencies:

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), with the ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical end-user personnel.
  • Proactive and dependable, with the ability to work independently while contributing thoughtfully to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM and project management tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Wrike).
  • Data and statistical knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Work environment and logistics:

Job type: Full-time

Location: Columbus, Ohio or remote (US-based), with occasional travel to client meetings and industry conferences.

Work authorization: United States (required)

 

Compensation & benefits:

Competitive starting salary range of $75,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes unlimited PTO and 100% employer-paid health insurance.
