We are looking for a National Traditional Trade Sales Manager, a sales and strategy professional who oversees a company's sales to the traditional trade channel, which includes independent stores, small retailers, and distributors. Their responsibilities involve developing and implementing sales strategies, managing a sales team, building relationships with key partners, ensuring product visibility and availability, and analyzing performance to drive growth within this specific market segment.


Key responsibilities

  • Strategic planning: Develop and execute strategies to grow market share and penetration within the traditional trade channel.
  • Team management: Lead, motivate, and manage a dedicated sales team to achieve business objectives.
  • Stakeholder relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, wholesalers, and large retail partners.
  • Execution and activation: Oversee field execution plans to ensure product availability, visibility, and compliance with pricing strategies at the point of sale.
  • Performance analysis: Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and report on key metrics to recommend and drive growth initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work with other departments like marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure alignment on product launches, promotions, and overall market support.
  • Budget and ROI: Manage trade investments and promotional planning, optimizing return on investment.


Skills and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sales Manager in the food industry is required, with proven expertise in managing traditional trade channels, driving growth, and building strong customer relationships.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong analytical, excel knowledge and strategic thinking skills.
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and measure ROI
  • Fluency in English
