Job Summary
Reporting to the European Chief of Operations, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and operational performance of a manufacturing plant producing rail wagons and wagon components that are subsequently delivered to other European sites. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production while driving continuous improvement across all key manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the overall operations of the plant producing rail wagons and components across welding, forging, cutting, machining and painting processes,
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards,
- Manage and develop a workforce of approximately 400 employees,
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs,
- Oversee execution of production plans and allocation of resources,
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and HSE teams to ensure smooth operations,
- Deliver strong operational performance through effective leadership and decision‑making.
Your profile
- University degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or Production Management,
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within heavy industry or large‑scale metal production (e.g., welding, forging, painting, assembly),
- Proven experience in managing complex production environments and leading large teams (approx. 400 employees),
- Strong leadership capabilities with a solid track record in driving operational performance,
- Excellent understanding of process optimization and cost‑efficiency strategies,
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to make decisions in industrial environment,
- Fluent in English and Romanian.
