SIMEA Sibiu is specialized in the production of electrical and electronic parts and components and electrical motors. As a member of the Siemens Corporation, SIMEA Sibiu takes advantage of cooperation with various divisions to ensure top quality, innovative solutions and competitive prices on an international level.
We are now looking to expand our team in Sibiu, within the Smart Infrastructure – Electrical Products division by adding a PLC Software Developer. This position is ideal for someone with a few years of relevant experience who is eager to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will join an experienced team, offering excellent opportunities to learn, grow, and further develop professionally.
Your Role
You will accompany the project as part of the team from the initial concept phase through to completion, including cost estimation and proposal preparation in collaboration with all departments involved in development.
You will work closely with the project manager and the Center of Competence Software at headquarters.
You will participate in design and process FMEA as well as performance level calculations.
You will ensure the functionality, quality, and timely delivery of the software packages under your responsibility, in coordination with your project team and project manager.
Areas Of Responsibility

• Development and implementation of PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Integration of AI-based solutions into automation systems.
• Design and implementation of visualization solutions (HMI/SCADA).
• Commissioning and optimization of automation systems.
• Error analysis and troubleshooting.
• Documentation of software solutions and systems.
• Participation in agile project teams.
  

Your Profile
Technical Requirements

• Solid knowledge of PLC programming (especially Siemens S7-1200/1500).
• Excellent knowledge of TIA Portal, drives technology, and robotics.
• Experience with structured programming according to IEC 61131-3.
• Knowledge of at least one AI development environment.
• Experience with high-level languages (preferably Python and C#/.NET).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, OPC UA).
• Understanding of IT security in industrial systems.
• Familiarity with relevant machinery directives, standards, and regulations (VDE, CE).
  

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Understanding of machine learning and deep learning.
• Basic knowledge of data analytics and cloud computing.
• Knowledge of ePlan.
  

Education

• Bachelor degree in automation technology, electrical engineering, computer science, or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
  

Professional Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in PLC programming.
• Practical experience with TIA Portal and robotics.
• Advantageous: experience in implementing AI solutions.
  

Soft Skills

• Analytical and solution-oriented thinking.
• High willingness to learn, especially in new technologies.
• Strong team spirit.
• Very good English skills; German would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally.
• Independent and structured working style.
