Painting Process Engineer

Job Objectives:

• Develops, optimizes, implements, and standardizes production processes by preparing the technological documentation for the development phase up to the series launch of new projects;
• Supports the production department as a specialist in implementing new processes;
• Creates robot programs for the painting/coating line;

Main Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and develops processes in the project phase, in collaboration with other company departments (Projects, Production, Quality, Logistics, etc.), according to efficiency, safety, and timing standards;
• Is responsible for the coating process (painting robots on the coating line);
• Prepares and updates the necessary documentation for a project related to the process under their responsibility (TLL, Data Sheets, Reifegrad);
• Prepares specifications and participates in drafting the PLP, FMEA, work and inspection instructions during the development phase until series production;
• Develops measures for the continuous optimization of processes (among others, to achieve the customer-required Lifetime Savings through cycle times: optimizing robot processing trajectories, optimizing working parameters);
• Participates in the acquisition of materials for the product as well as other parts or equipment required for the technological process;
• Defines the layout of robotic lines considering process efficiency and stability based on Lean Manufacturing principles;
• Prepares the technical training instructions for equipment (automatic painting robot) and actively participates in the qualification process of production technicians within the area of responsibility;
• Tests new processes and optimizes them for transfer into series production according to current standards/regulations;
• Systematically documents newly discovered knowledge and accumulated experience and develops measures for continuous process optimization (including achieving customer-required Lifetime Savings through cycle times);
• Conducts systematic process analyses and develops measures for continuous process improvement (including customer-required Lifetime Savings through cycle times);
• Collaborates within the team to develop durable solutions that can be implemented in the series production cycle;
• Analyzes the causes of process disturbances, eliminates malfunctions, and participates together with other departments in planning and applying any necessary modifications to the product.

Job Requirements:

• Higher technical education;
• Minimum 2 years in a similar position, 3 years in the technological process field;
• Minimum 2 years in the automotive industry;
• Knowledge of automation and robotics;
• Robot and PLC programming (Fanuc, Reiter Paint Pro – painting program license);
• Optimization and standardization of production processes;
• Quality analysis methods;
• Internal products, processes, and technologies;
• English/German language knowledge – intermediate/advanced level;
