Summary
Job Description:
The Race, Climate, and Agrarian Justice Lab Social Media and Events student worker works with the lab’s Co-Directors to create social media calendars, develop educational content, post content, and manage online engagement. The student will also assist with the communication and social media strategy leading up to a spring summit. Some portion of time may be spent on event planning and management related to the summit and/or other virtual events.
Essential Functions

  • Work with lab co-directors to create social media calendars, develop educational content, post content, and manage online engagement.
  • Assist with the communication and social media strategy leading up to a spring summit.
  • Event planning and management related to the summit and/or other virtual events.
  • Other duties assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

  • Part-time.
  • 8 hours per week.

Salary Range

  • $17.95 - $18.20 per hour.

Required Education And Experience

  • Experience working in an antiracist and social justice-oriented environment.
  • Experience planning and executing a social media strategy.
  • Experience designing social media posts and flyers in Canva.
  • Experience posting to and managing Instagram, Linkedin, and BlueSky accounts.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Event support experience.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Previous experience in agrarian and climate justice work.
