Payroll Manager | Multi-State Operations | High-Growth Environment

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop a payroll team, setting clear expectations and driving performance, accuracy, and accountability
• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing across multiple states and entities, including off-cycle runs, bonuses, and commissions
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements
• Establish and improve payroll processes, controls, and workflows to support a growing organization
• Partner with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate and aligned payroll operations
• Support audits, year-end processes, and reporting, including W-2s and tax filings
• Act as a key partner in payroll system enhancements, implementations, and process automation initiatives
• Assist with payroll-related activities tied to organizational changes, including integrations and restructuring efforts
• Analyze payroll data, identify trends, and provide insights to leadership for decision-making

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong experience managing multi-state payroll in a multi-entity or shared services environment
• Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and operate in a fast-paced setting
• Deep understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
• Experience working cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with payroll systems and reporting tools
• Experience with system implementations or process improvements is a plus
