Overview

As System Engineer / Project Lead Product Development, you hold technical ownership of an automotive product from concept to industrialization. You lead and coordinate the technical development, ensure fulfillment of requirements, quality, cost, and timing targets, and act as the main technical interface between development teams, the project core team, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & System Responsibility

• Own the technical integrity of the product across all development phases

• Lead system and requirement engineering activities, ensuring traceability and maturity

• Ensure correct implementation of all product features according to the aligned feature and system plan

• Drive technical decision-making and problem-solving across system, hardware, software, and RF topics

• Ensure compliance with automotive standards, customer requirements, approvals, and certifications

Project & Delivery Management

• Secure project timing and adherence to all milestones

• Ensure transparency of task status, maturity, and risks

• Coordinate the extended development team across disciplines

• Ensure on-time, quality-compliant delivery of all engineering artefacts

• Adhere to the development budget (engineering effort and external costs)

• Support measures to improve project efficiency / OI

Samples, Validation & Industrialization

• Plan, coordinate, and secure sample builds and deliveries (quantity, quality, timing)

• Ensure documentation of sample deliveries in relevant tools (e.g. part history sheets)

• Secure sample availability for PV and DV

• Coordinate product validation activities and closure of findings

Communication & Stakeholder Interface

• Act as the technical interface to project core teams, customers, and suppliers

• Prepare and moderate technical reviews and decision meetings

• Communicate clearly, assertively, and solution-oriented -- also under pressure

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Automotive Engineering, or similar

• Embedded-focused background preferred

Experience

• >=5 years experience in system

• Proven experience in automotive product development projects

• Experience in Entry & Authorization Systems (EAS) such as Keyless-Go and Push & Drive

Technical Know-How

• EAS technologies: LF / RF, UWB, BLE, NFC

• Automotive electronics & software: CAN, LIN, FBL, BSW, Application layer

• Automotive development processes (V-Model knowledge)

Tools & Methods

• Requirements & configuration tools: DOORS, Dimensions, CIMDB, SAP

• Agile and classical project management methods
