NAPA Design Solutions is looking for a Technical Consultant Trainee who is eager to learn and support our team in assisting both existing and new Naval Architecture customers. You will be exposed to real industry challenges and gain hands‑on experience in the global shipbuilding and maritime sector.
The role and your team
You are a member of the NAPA Design Solutions Europe Services team, which is part of the amazing global Services team. All team members are Naval Architects and/or Structural Designers by education and thus have an excellent understanding of our customers’ problems and needs.
As a Technical Consultant Trainee, you will assist in providing technical support for NAPA’s ship design software solutions. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will help research answers to customer questions, learn how to troubleshoot ship‑design‑related issues, and contribute to internal knowledge-building. You will also support the creation of training materials and gradually participate in user training sessions at NAPA’s or customers’ offices. To ensure the best possible service for our customers and maintain strong long-term relationships, you will collaborate closely with the Sales and Software Development teams.

The role is fixed-term and full-time, and your home base can be our office in Galati, Romania, or you can work in hybrid mode.
Are you our ideal candidate?
You could be a good fit for this role if you are:

• A 3rd- or 4th-year student in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or another relevant engineering field
• Interested in ship design, structural design, or engineering software tools
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with other team members
  

It would be beneficial if you also had:

• A basic understanding of ship structures or related engineering concepts
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools such as NAPA Steel, AVEVA Marine, or Cadmatic (not mandatory)
• Curiosity about Finite Element Analyses and willingness to learn
• Basic programming or scripting skills
• Interest in how AI can support engineering or data analysis tasks
  

We hope you also have excellent communication and teaching skills and that you take initiative and assume responsibility for your work. At NAPA, our working language is English, so you must have fluent written and spoken English skills.
