We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to create, own, and improve product documentation for our software platform. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, product management, customer success, and design teams to deliver clear, accurate, user-focused content that helps customers understand, adopt, and succeed with our product.

This position is ideal for someone who can translate complex technical concepts into simple, engaging, and accessible content, while driving documentation strategy and standards across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

Documentation & Content Creation

• Develop and maintain high-quality documentation including user guides, API references, integration guides, release notes, tutorials, and in-app content.

• Write for multiple audiences: developers, administrators, and end-users.

• Produce diagrams, architecture visuals, and conceptual overviews where helpful.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with product managers and engineers to understand new features, technical changes, and requirements.

• Participate in product design reviews and sprint planning to anticipate documentation needs.

• Gather feedback from internal teams and customers to refine and improve documentation.

Content Strategy & Ownership

• Define documentation standards, style guides, and best practices across the organization.

• Own the documentation roadmap and prioritize work for maximum product impact.

• Ensure documentation is aligned with usability, accessibility, and brand voice guidelines.

Tooling & Systems

• Manage documentation platforms (e.g., Git-based workflows, markdown, static site generators).

• Ensure docs are up to date and versioned correctly for different product releases.

Quality & Accuracy

• Verify documentation through hands-on use of the product, test environments, and close collaboration with engineering.

• Review technical accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistency across all content.

• Conduct periodic audits to retire outdated content and improve discoverability.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years’ experience as a technical writer.

• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise content.

• Strong familiarity with developer tools, APIs, SDKs, and cloud technologies.

• Experience working in agile software development environments.

• Proficiency with documentation tools (Markdown, Git, static site generators, CMS platforms, etc.).

Preferred

• Experience documenting REST APIs, microservices, or enterprise software systems.

• Background in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.

• Knowledge of UX writing principles and in-app help text creation.

Soft Skills
