Recruitment 2025: Drug Analyst & Support Staff Positions
Short Information: Contractual Positions The West Bengal State Health & Family Welfare Samiti is inviting online applications for contractual engagement of personnel for the WB Strengthening of State Drug Regulatory Mechanism project. Positions include Drug Analyst (Junior Scientific Assistant) and Support Staff (Laboratory Assistant). Candidates will be posted at the State Drug Control & Research Laboratory. The application window is from August 29, 2025, to September 15, 2025. Only online applications will be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria
Position Essential Qualification Essential Experience Desirable Qualification Drug Analyst (Junior Scientific Assistant)

• B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Chemistry OR
• B.Pharma OR
• B.Tech (Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Technology) from any recognised University.
• Completed minimum 2 years experience in a registered institution in the manufacturing or testing of Drugs OR enforcement of provision of the Drugs and Cosmetics Acts, 1940.
• Preferably from a Government Organization under a Govt. Analyst or Chemical Examiner.
• Master degree in Science (Chemistry) OR
• M.Pharma OR
• M.Tech (Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Technology).
  

Support Staff (Laboratory Assistant)

• B.Sc degree with Chemistry/Botany/Zoology as one of the subjects OR
• B.Pharm degree from any recognised University.
• Completed 1 Year experience in a registered institution/research laboratory as testing or Lab Assistant in the testing of samples under Drugs and Cosmetics and enforcement of provision of the Drugs and Cosmetics Acts 1940.

For Drug Analyst (JSA): B.Sc (Hons.) in (Chemistry)/B.Pharma/ B.Tech (Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Technology) 50 Proportionate Marking: (% of Marks obtained in the exam)*50/100 For Support Staff (Laboratory Assistant): B.Sc degree with Chemistry/Botany/Zoology as one of the subjects /B.Pharm 75 Proportionate Marking: (% of Marks obtained in the exam)*75/100 2. For Drug Analyst (JSA): Master degree in Science (Chemistry) or M.Pharma or M.Tech (Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Technology) 15 Additional marks For Support Staff (Laboratory Assistant): Completed 1 Year experience in registered institution/research laboratory as testing or Lab Assistant in the testing of samples under Drugs and Cosmetics and enforcement of provision of the Drugs and Cosmetics Acts 1940 10 2 marks for each completed year of experience over and above the essential experience upto a maximum of 10 marks. 3. For Drug Analyst (JSA): Completed minimum 2 years experience in registered institution in the manufacturing or testing of Drugs or enforcement of provision of the Drugs and Cosmetics Acts, 1940 preferably from a Government Organization under Govt. Analyst or Chemical Examiner 20 5 marks for each completed year of experience over and above the essential experience upto a maximum of 20 marks. 4. Interview (for both positions) 15 X Total 100
General Information for Applicants

• Proper signature and photograph must be uploaded during online application.
• Essential Qualifications are minimum; mere possession does not guarantee selection. All essential qualifications must be completed on or before the last date of online application.
• Experience will be calculated after obtaining the required essential qualification, up to the last date of online application.
• Caste Certificates (SC/ST/OBC) and PWD/EWS Certificates issued by competent authorities of West Bengal on or before the last date of online application will be accepted.
• Candidates claiming SC/ST/OBC status must have a certificate from a competent authority of West Bengal.
• The online registration number must be retained for future reference. No information regarding the online registration number will be provided by the employer in the future.
• Applicants should download and retain a hard copy/print copy of the online registration form from “http://hr.wbhealth.gov.in:8888/Index.aspx” -> “Application Print” for document verification purposes. Without this form, candidates will not be entertained for original testimonials verification. No need to send hard copy/print copy by post.
• Age relaxation will be given to reserved candidates as per government norms.
• Selection will be based on marks obtained in academic qualification, experience, and interview.
• The engagement is purely on a contractual basis, initially for six months/one year, which may be renewed/extended subject to satisfactory performance.
• The online deposition of application fees can be done through net banking, credit/debit card. Upon successful payment, candidates will be reverted to the link for final submission using the application ID. Do not deposit fees more than once.
• The decision of the competent authorities regarding recruitment is final and they may cancel the process at any stage.
