Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Agile Delivery Manager who can orchestrate multiple cross-functional squads, champion continuous delivery, and help translate complex maritime requirements into high-impact digital products working in collaboration with product, project managers, business and technical SMEs. You will be pivotal in scaling agile ways of working, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring on-time, quality releases that create measurable value for our customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end delivery of several agile squads (Scrum or Kanban), ensuring scope, timeline, and quality goals are met.

• Facilitate all agile ceremonies – sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives – driving a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.

• Coach Product Owners and squad members on lean backlog management, story slicing, and definition of ready/done to maximize throughput.

• Champion BDD by coaching teams on writing clear Gherkin scenarios and maintaining living documentation that bridges business and technology.

• Perform light Business Analysis such as refining epics and user stories with crisp acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with business value and regulatory needs.

• Identify and remove delivery impediments, coordinating with engineering, product, project managers, UX, DevOps, InfoSec, and maritime SMEs to unblock teams quickly and enable timely delivery all in alignment with SmartSea’s system of work.

• Track and communicate key delivery metrics (velocity, lead time, burndown, escaped defects) to stakeholders, using data to forecast releases and improve predictability.

• Drive dependency management across squads and external vendors, aligning roadmaps and mitigating risks early.

• Foster a high-performance, psychologically-safe environment – facilitating constructive conflict resolution, knowledge sharing, and team autonomy.

• Ensure compliance with SmartSea’s quality standards, and security guidelines throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Contribute to wider organisational agility by mentoring junior Scrum Masters, refining playbooks, and piloting new frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) where beneficial.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing software delivery in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments, preferably across multiple teams.

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or SAFe Agilist certification along with evidence of continuous learning.

• Demonstrated success launching large-scale digital products or platforms with distributed teams.

• Strong grasp of Agile metrics, forecasting techniques, and data-driven decision-making.

• Excellent stakeholder-management and negotiation skills; able to translate maritime business goals into actionable delivery plans.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and microservices architectures; familiarity with low-code ecosystems (e.g., Mendix) is a plus.

• Understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change processes and how they integrate with agile release management is a plus.

• Proven ability to coach and mentor diverse teams, facilitating continuous learning and psychological safety.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English; maritime industry exposure is advantageous.
