About the role and team

We're building the next generation of intelligent gaming platforms at evoke, leveraging generative AI and agentic systems to transform how our products operate and interact with customers at scale.

From smarter customer experiences and real-time decision-making to intelligent automation of complex operational workflows, AI is becoming a core part of our platform strategy. But delivering meaningful AI solutions in a highly regulated environment requires more than integrating the latest LLMs. It requires building trusted, production-grade systems that are reliable, compliant, auditable, and scalable.

Our team is responsible for creating the core infrastructure for agentic AI across evoke. We are building the foundations that allow AI agents to safely interact with our ecosystem, including reusable agentic tools, AI guardrails, domain-aware orchestration, human-in-the-loop controls, and standardized Model Context Protocols (MCPs) that can be leveraged across teams and use cases.

This foundation will unlock a new generation of intelligent automation and customer interactions, and we're looking for a leader who is excited to help shape that future.

What you'll be doing

Lead AI Engineering Delivery

• Lead and grow a cross-functional team of AI Engineers and QA Specialists, owning the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered and agentic systems in production.
• Define and drive the technical strategy, execution roadmap, and delivery approach for the team, balancing innovation with reliability, compliance, and scalability.
• Guide the design and implementation of AI solutions from experimentation and prototyping through to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to define priorities, align on success metrics, and deliver measurable business impact.
• Drive a strong culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across both Engineering and QA disciplines.

Build the Foundations for Agentic AI

• Own the development of evoke's AI platform backbone, including agent connectivity, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and reusable agentic tools that enable AI agents to safely interact with our platforms.
• Ensure AI systems are designed with robust guardrails, governance, observability, and operational controls to support safe and responsible deployment.
• Establish scalable engineering practices that allow AI capabilities to be reused and adopted across multiple teams and business domains.
• Make pragmatic technology decisions, balancing innovation, complexity, cost, performance, and long-term maintainability.

Drive Engineering & Quality Excellence

• Establish and maintain high standards across software engineering, testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
• Define robust evaluation and validation frameworks for AI systems, ensuring outputs remain accurate, consistent, compliant, and trustworthy.
• Promote best practices in AI testing and evaluation, helping the team effectively validate generative AI and agentic systems.
• Champion model and system quality through monitoring, performance analysis, continuous testing, and proactive risk management.
• Lead incident management and root-cause analysis for production issues, ensuring lessons learned translate into lasting platform improvements.

Grow People & Capability

• Mentor and develop engineers and QA specialists, supporting both technical growth and leadership development.
• Foster strong collaboration between Engineering and QA, creating a culture where quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create an environment that encourages learning, experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Stay at the forefront of AI, LLMs, agentic architectures, and emerging technologies, bringing relevant innovations into the team while maintaining a production-first mindset.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, AI/ML, or related technical disciplines.
• At least 2–3 years of experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering complex, production-grade systems end-to-end, ideally within distributed, platform, or high-scale environments.
• Strong technical background in AI/ML systems, including hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, agentic frameworks, or modern AI platforms.
• Ability to guide architectural decisions and provide technical leadership across AI-powered products and services.
• Solid software engineering foundations, including system design, code quality, testing strategies, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
• Experience building and integrating APIs, microservices, and platform-level capabilities.
• Strong understanding of AI system challenges, including non-determinism, evaluation complexity, latency, reliability, model performance, and production monitoring.
• Experience working in regulated, compliance-driven, or high-trust environments is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align both technical and non-technical audiences.
