A Snapshot of Your Day
The Area Sales Manager for Romania and Bulgaria plays a key role in expanding Voith Hydro’s regional presence by driving business development, sales growth, and strong customer relationships. The position ensures Voith’s continued market leadership and alignment with the evolving needs of the hydropower sector in both countries.
How You'll Make An Impact

  • Identify sales opportunities, contribute to market intelligence activities, and support the sales team in customer acquisition and retention.
  • Build, maintain, and expand a strong pipeline aligned with regional growth targets.
  • Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, customer meetings, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closing.
  • Ensure accurate translation of customer requirements into internal specifications
  • Work closely with engineering, tendering, service, and project management teams to develop optimized technical and commercial proposals.
  • Support project handover to execution teams after contract award.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety rules, and management system requirements throughout the offer phase.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports in SalesForce and internal management systems.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or related field) or equivalent technical background.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or key account management—preferably in energy, hydro, power generation, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience with hydropower equipment, large machinery, rotating equipment, automation, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record in managing complex technical sales cycles and tender processes.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English and Romanian; Bulgarian or German are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally to Voith locations abroad.
  • Knowledge of regional energy market structures, permitting processes, and utility procurement practices.
  • Familiarity with SAP, CRM systems, and structured sales methodologies.
