Who We Are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Cloud automation and IT systems management solutions
• Analyzing customer requirements, creating technical specifications, writing program code, and documenting processes
• Continuously enhancing automation products, services, and standards to ensure best practices
• Designing and optimizing software architecture in collaboration with the architecture team
• Creating and maintaining automation workflows for IT Assets and CMDB platforms
• Performing automation, integration, and orchestration services using advanced technologies
• Developing standards to support legacy and on-prem cloud design
• Testing and validating products before deployment
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting technical issues
• Investigating automation opportunities to improve scalability and efficiency
• Providing 24x7 support (on-call), including early/late shifts
• Staying updated with new technologies and industry best practices
  

What You'll Bring Along

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Ansible Platform 2.2 or other automation and orchestration platforms (Terraform, Apache Airflow, VTOM, Luigi, Argo)
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Yaml, Python, Java, JavaScript, and familiarity with additional technologies (Perl, Oracle, SQL/RDBMS, XML, JSON, RESTful APIs)
• Strong experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• In-depth understanding of IT Operations, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Ability to oversee development efforts and ensure high-quality outcomes while juggling priorities
• Familiarity with metrics gathering, monitoring, and alerting activities
• Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
• Demonstrated analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and a team player with a high degree of professionalism
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language is a plus)
