Who We Are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensuring IT services and infrastructure remain highly available, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
- Developing and implementing strategies for service availability, including capacity planning and disaster recovery.
- Managing incidents affecting service availability and ensuring timely resolution.
- Identifying root causes of disruptions and implementing preventive measures.
- Ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and collaborating with stakeholders to refine them.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability and performance.
- Continuously monitoring IT service and infrastructure performance using appropriate tools and platforms.
- Generating and analyzing availability and capacity metrics to support decision-making.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of availability, capacity, and lifecycle management processes and procedures.
- Retaining source data for at least 12 months to support trend analysis and forecasting.
- Planning, implementing, and managing capacity and lifecycle processes for datacenter and cloud infrastructure.
- Developing and maintaining capacity plans, forecasting future demands, and reporting resource utilization.
- Managing the full lifecycle of infrastructure assets—from acquisition to decommissioning—ensuring timely updates and replacements.
- Coordinating asset management processes and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure service continuity.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Optimizing cost, reliability, and performance across IT infrastructure.
- Working closely with IT teams (e.g., network, application support, security) to coordinate availability and capacity efforts.
- Collaborating with business units and external partners to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs.
- Integrating supplier availability management processes with internal and third-party frameworks.
- Deploying and maintaining an Availability Management Information System (AMIS) to support accurate forecasting and planning.
- Regularly updating the AMIS with relevant changes, including configuration item updates.
What You’ll Bring Along
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a strong focus on availability, capacity, and lifecycle management.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale datacenter and cloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience in IT service availability, capacity planning, forecasting, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Deep understanding of datacenter and cloud infrastructure, including networking, storage, and virtualization.
- Expertise in availability management principles, capacity optimization techniques, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools, availability management systems (e.g., AMIS), and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management methodologies.
- Experience with asset tracking, vendor coordination, and infrastructure decommissioning.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS, Azure, or other infrastructure-related credentials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for optimizing IT service performance and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work both independently and within a team.
- Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and integration of emerging technologies.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English; knowledge of other EU languages is considered an asset.
