Under the operational responsibility of the Solution Owner, you design, build and ship software and systems, in the respect of existing policies and procedures that produce high-quality software products and services. Right from prototyping and designing functional code to coding and testing, you take ownership of the software until it is handed over to the end users. 

You are fully integrated within the Software Engineering Chapter, you contribute to develop the community, define and share guidelines, best practices, experience with others and perform technological watch on your domain 

You will join the Tech & Data department (more than 200 employees across the globe) and will be able to grow and evolve in a global and very dynamic structure providing products, services, and support to all SCOR Group worldwide.

Your mission and tasks will be: 

. On software development

•  Develop software applications and systems by analyzing user needs and designing solutions that meet stakeholders' requirements 
• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using [e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, Ruby, .NET] 
• Develop and maintain APIs (RESTful or GraphQL) to support front-end feature o Integrate third-party services and API 
• Ensure data security and protection 
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability 
• Test software development methodology in an agile environment 
• Participate in back-end code reviews, peer programming, and continuous integration and delivery processes
•  Collaborate with cross-functional teams and squads, including product owners, solution owners, quality assurance team and other developers to deliver efficient and high-quality software solutions 

. On software maintenance 

• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms: troubleshoot and fix software defects, performance issues, and software compatibility problems 
• Maintain documentation and version control of software code and related artifacts 
• Implement software security best practices and adhere to industry standards and regulations 

. On innovation 

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and software engineering best practices. 
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement 
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

Required experience & competencies 

• . +5 years of coding experience and a proven track record of successful deliveries 
• . Experience/ Knowledge of the Reinsurance business and/or the financial services industry is a plus 

Hard skills 

• Strong experience of Business & IT agile ways of working, experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
• Hands-on experience working with various technology 
• Proficient and Strong programming skills in at least back-end language (e.g., mainly Java and Node.js, Python, Go, Ruby) 
• Experience with software development tools and frameworks such as Git (version control tools), AzureDevOps, Jenkins, Webpack, NPM/Yarn, etc. 
• Familiarity with software engineering principles and design patterns 
• Demonstrable experience in developing scalable software applications and systems 
• Knowledge of software security principles and practices 
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks 
• High curiosity about technology / coding innovation 
• Familiar with the following software/tools: 
  • o Experience with Unit Testing tools (Jest, Jasmine, Karma) End-to-End Testing (Cypress) 
  • o Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker.
  •  o Experience with build automation technologies like Jenkins. 
  • o Experience with security standards like OAuth2 OIDC. o Experience with building and developing APIs and services using RESTful API, GraphQL, etc. 
  • o Experience with scripting languages 
• Experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) 
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) 
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., JWT, OAuth)

Preferred Skills: 

• Experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) 
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills 
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices with good CICD deployment understanding and capabilities. 
• Close interaction within Squad team and very good synchronization with maintenance team 
• Knowledge of UX/UI design is a plus.

Required Education 

Master degree in Computer Science or related field required
