Role Overview

As a Backup & Recovery Administrator (L2), you will be responsible for administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise backup infrastructure while ensuring backup SLAs, disaster recovery readiness, and high service availability.

Key Responsibilities

Backup Administration

✔ Monitor and manage enterprise backup environments in a 24x7 support model

✔ Configure, administer, and troubleshoot:

• Cohesity
• Dell EMC Networker
• DataDomain

✔ Build and configure Cohesity and Networker backup servers

✔ Monitor backup capacity, job schedules, and backup performance

✔ Perform backup and restore operations for:

• Physical Servers
• Virtual Machines (VMs)
• Databases
• Microsoft 365

✔ Execute customer-initiated restore requests

✔ Perform disk-based backup operations

Backup & Recovery Operations

✔ Troubleshoot backup failures and restore issues

✔ Manage backup server installations, upgrades, and patching

✔ Support backup server recovery during failures

✔ Perform backup tool migrations

✔ Prepare monthly backup success reports

✔ Install and configure backup agents

Disaster Recovery & Service Management

✔ Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and DR exercises

✔ Support Change, Incident, Problem, and Service Management processes

✔ Ensure SLA and SLO compliance

✔ Manage backup performance tuning and capacity planning

✔ Coordinate media management and tape recalls with Iron Mountain

Infrastructure & Storage

✔ Support:

• Dell ECS
• NetApp Storage

✔ Configure Disk-to-Disk backup environments

✔ Support High Availability backup configurations

✔ Manage backup replication and deduplication

✔ Support backup modules including:

• VMware Snapshot
• Oracle
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft Exchange
• SharePoint

Operations & Continuous Improvement

✔ Liaise with vendors and OEMs for technical escalations

✔ Maintain technical documentation and operational reports

✔ Drive service improvement initiatives

✔ Perform proactive health checks and preventive maintenance

✔ Support licensing and compliance activities
