Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a BMS (Building Management System) & Automation Engineer, based in Bucharest–Ilfov. The BMS Engineer will design, configure, program, and maintain building automation and management systems across large-scale projects — corporate offices, retail, healthcare, industrial, and critical infrastructure — contributing from the proposal stage through commissioning and ongoing maintenance.
The role involves selecting and integrating automation equipment and open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LON, OPC UA), programming and commissioning on platforms such as Niagara N4/Tridium, Honeywell, Schneider EcoStruxure, or Siemens Desigo, and setting up remote monitoring and analytics to optimise building energy performance.
The BMS Engineer will work closely with the design, sales, and technical teams to deliver correct, competitive, and reliable automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Technical degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field
- Prior experience in design, programming, or commissioning of BMS systems (3–5 years recommended)
- Working knowledge of automation protocols: BACnet, Modbus, KNX, LON; basic IP networking knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and automation schematics
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to work both independently and within a team
- Category B driving licence
- Certification in Niagara N4/Tridium, Honeywell, Schneider, or Siemens Desigo/Distech Controls is considered an advantage
- Knowledge of energy efficiency principles / Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is a plus
- Familiarity with cybersecurity for converged OT/IT systems is a plus
- Technical-level English is required
