The Category Leader Electrical is responsible for the strategic and operational sourcing of defined Electrical commodity groups. The role carries regional responsibility with active contribution to global category teams and international sourcing projects.Initial Commodity FocusCable assemblies Power supplies Fans Breakers PDU (Further commodity expansion possible over time)What You Will Experience In This PositionAnalyze and monitor international supply markets, including supplier, technology, cost, and risk developments Develop and implement regional category strategies aligned with global sourcing initiatives Select, evaluate, and develop suppliers, including implementation of second-source strategies Independently prepare and conduct price, contract, and framework agreement negotiations with national and international suppliers Drive cost management initiatives and identify sustainable cost reduction opportunities Manage supply risks and bottlenecks for assigned product groups Work closely with Engineering and Operations on technical clarifications, supplier decisions, and cross-functional projects Contribute to global sourcing projects and cross-regional procurement initiatives Support and accompany supplier audits (quality, processes, performance)You HaveProcurement & Category Management:Several years of experience in strategic or technical procurement, ideally within Electrical / ElectronicsExperience at Professional or Senior Category Leader levelStrong background in supplier selection and development, price and contract negotiations, cost and value analysis, and international supplier managementTechnical Competence:Ability to read, understand, and evaluate BOMs, technical drawings, and specificationsProven experience working closely with Engineering and technical departmentsConfidence in technical discussions with suppliers, supported by EngineeringIndustry Exposure:Experience in multiple of the following industries is an advantage: Industrial, Railway, Data Center, Telecom, MedTech, Automotive.Negotiation & Stakeholder Management:Independent handling of international supplier negotiationsConfident interaction with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to moderate between different interests while remaining assertive and result-orientedClose cooperation especially with Engineering and Operations / Supply ChainLanguage Skills:English & Romanian: fluent and negotiation levelGerman: desirable, especially for collaboration with smaller suppliersAdditional languages are a plusEducation & Qualifications:No strict formal education requirementSuitable backgrounds include technical or commercial education with strong procurement experience, or a university degree (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration)Practical experience and competence are more important than formal qualificationsPersonal Profile:Strong analytical and structured working styleHigh level of ownership and hands-on mentalityExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to bridge technical and commercial topicsStrong team player in an international environmentWillingness to travel approximately 20%ERP knowledge: M3 / SAPWe HaveA dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every daynVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
