Driven by the continuous expansion of our business, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Accountant to work with one of the largest and fastest-growing transport and freight forwarding companies in South-Eastern Europe, a technological leader in the industry.With over 30 years of experience in the Transport & Logistics industry, Discordia is an established leader, ranked among the top 20 transport companies in Europe.The role will give the opportunity to implement your ideas and knowledge in the areas of Accounting and Finance for the Romanian entity.Chief AccountantKey ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day accounting activities of the Romanian company.Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and documented.Ensure compliance with Romanian accounting, tax, and statutory requirements.Prepare and coordinate VAT, tax, and other statutory filings, in cooperation with external advisors where applicable.Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger activities, and expense reporting.Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes.Prepare regular financial information and reports for the headquarters in Bulgaria.Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, payroll providers, banks, and other external partners.Provide accounting information and support to the management teams in Cluj and Bucharest.Communicate with the Bulgarian headquarters on accounting, reporting and financial matters.Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of accounting and payroll issuesSupport the implementation and improvement of accounting and administrative processes across the Romanian offices.Requirements:University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics7+ years of experience in accountingSolid knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax legislationHigh level of understanding of month-end and year-end closing proceduresExperience with VAT and statutory reportingVery good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systemsExperience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV will be considered strong advantageHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independentlyVery good command of English.What We OfferAn opportunity to work for one of the fast-growing transportation and logistics companies in EuropeOpportunity to grow as a professional and to implement your knowledge and experience in practice;Permanent contractCompetitive salary and benefits packageEquipment Provided: Laptop & SmartphoneClass A open space officeIf you are interested in our opportunity, please send your CV.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.
