• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure the best value for the company
• Monitor market trends, prices, and availability of commodities to make informed purchasing decisions
• Collaborate with Planning to understand the commodity requirements and develop sourcing strategies
• Manage supplier relationships, including conducting regular performance evaluations and resolving any issues that may arise
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and stay updated on industry developments
• Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs and maximize efficiency
• Prepare and analyze reports on purchasing activities, including cost savings and supplier performance
• Work collaboratively with various departments, such as Planning, Business Development, and Engineering to ensure that procurement decisions align with company goals and objectives
• This role also entails the responsibility of being present at exhibitions and trade fairs
