About the Job

We are looking for a Configuration Manager to own, deploy, and continuously improve Piaxo’s configuration management practices across automotive engineering programs. This senior role ensures disciplined baseline management, structured change control, and consistent configuration governance across system, hardware, software, and validation work products.

You will work across multiple engineering teams and active programs to establish configuration baselines, monitor compliance, and support controlled product evolution throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Configuration Management Ownership

Define, maintain, and mature Piaxo’s configuration management process across all engineering domains.

Establish governance rules for configuration items, baselines, versioning, and change control.

Ensure alignment with ASPICE expectations and internal engineering workflows.

Program Deployment & Baseline Establishment

Establish configuration baselines for multiple active development programs.

Support program teams in identifying configuration items and structuring CM strategies.

Monitor baseline evolution and ensure controlled change implementation.

Change Control & Governance

• Oversee change management workflows, including impact analysis and approval processes.
• Support and participate in Change Control Boards (CCB) when applicable.
• Ensure changes are documented, reviewed, and traceable.

Coaching & Enablement

• Coach and mentor engineering teams on correct application of configuration management practices.
• Monitor adherence to CM processes and provide corrective guidance when deviations occur.
• Promote a culture of discipline, traceability, and engineering accountability.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure configuration records, baselines, and change histories are complete and audit-ready.
• Support internal and external audits or assessments.
• Maintain templates, guidelines, and work instructions for CM activities.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify gaps or inefficiencies in configuration practices and drive improvement initiatives.
• Incorporate lessons learned from projects and assessments into CM process updates.
• Stay aligned with industry best practices in configuration management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in configuration management within automotive or regulated engineering environments.
• Proven ability to establish and manage configuration baselines across complex programs.
• Familiarity with ASPICE expectations related to configuration management.
• Experience working with ALM/PLM tools (e.g. JIRA, PTC, Jama, DNG, SharePoint, Git, Rhapsody, Polarion tools).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in OEM or Tier-1 automotive development environments.
• Familiarity with system, hardware, or software development lifecycles.
• Exposure to ISO 26262 or ISO/SAE 21434 environments.
• Experience supporting assessments or audits.
