As a SQL Data Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all data workloads within our SQL Server data warehouse that support Cegeka's critical business processes. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing existing jobs, assisting teams in migrating data workloads to our new Databricks data warehouse, and resolving issues with existing jobs and workloads as they arise.

What you will do

• Update SQL stored procedures, jobs, and SSIS packages to implement business logic modifications as requested by stakeholders
• Enhance performance and quality by optimizing ingestion and transformation jobs to ensure timely completion of data workloads without errors
• Investigate failed jobs by analyzing existing business logic to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions
• Provide technical support to analysts and assist architects in defining enhancements for observability, quality, and performance
• Address incidents with appropriate rigor to ensure prompt mitigation and resolution while documenting critical improvements to strengthen platform stability

We are looking for someone with:

• professional experience with SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS
• a strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and modeling techniques, including Kimball methodology, Medallion Architecture, and data normalization
• proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization through execution plans, indexes, and statistics management
• an ownership-driven mindset with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving

Our perfect candidate:

• Has proficiency in Python, YAML, or Terraform
• Has experience with PowerShell scripting
• Demonstrates expertise in software engineering principles, including Git CLI, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automated testing
• Has hands-on experience with platforms such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Azure DevOps
• Has comprehensive understanding of Data Governance and Security implementation
• Possesses excellent proactive communication skills in both written and verbal formats
• Has strong self-organizational abilities and capacity to align personal objectives with business and team priorities
