About the Role

STIHL Business Services is looking for an experienced Azure Data & AI Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and scalable data platform development to join our global IT team. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and AI applications, taking solutions from initial prototype to production-ready services. From developing medallion-based data models and integrating APIs, cloud applications, and other source systems to building solutions with Python, PySpark, and SQL, you’ll help shape our global data and AI landscape. You’ll also play a key role in enabling reliable, automated deployments through Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.

You're a Great Fit If You:

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business informatics, computer science, software engineering, or a comparable IT-related field;
• You have strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and PySpark for data processing, transformation, and analytics use cases;
• You have at least one year of practical experience designing and operating cloud-based data pipelines and AI solutions, ideally using Microsoft Azure and Databricks;
• You have a solid understanding of DevOps principles, including version control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines for data and analytics workloads;
• You have a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for building scalable and sustainable data solutions;
• You are a team player who enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration and ideally has experience working in an agile environment;
• You have strong communication skills and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• You communicate confidently and work effectively in an international environment;
• You are fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• You have good German language skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• You will design, build, and operate robust, scalable data pipelines and AI solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases across ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and integration of heterogeneous data sources;
• You will apply modern data architecture principles, including Medallion Architecture and Data Mesh concepts, to enable reusable and domain-oriented data products;
• You will contribute to the continuous evolution, secure operation, and reliable performance of our cloud-based data and AI platform on Microsoft Azure and Databricks;
• You will ensure high data quality through validation, monitoring, systematic data cleaning, and continuous improvement practices;
• You will build data pipelines and infrastructure in line with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices;
• You will advise and support business units in translating AI use cases into technically feasible, scalable, and maintainable solutions;
• You will collaborate closely within a cross-functional Data Analytics & AI team, working with product owners, data analysts, data scientists, platform teams, and business stakeholders;
• You will actively contribute to knowledge sharing, technical standards, and best practices across the team.
