The Opportunity: Build the Foundation for our Data Transformation Program

We have a greenfield opportunity: to build a Data Governance Framework and be part of the core implementation team of a new Data Lakehouse. The goal is to provide data to all business consumers and to facilitate the Artificial Intelligence (AI) implementation across the business.

For this purpose, we need an expert who will design and build the data governance foundation, and guarantee that everything we build upon it is fit for purpose, reliable, and secure.

Your Mission & Impact (Key Responsibilities)

As the Data Governance Expert, you will be an important pillar in ensuring our new data ecosystem is built to be fit for purpose from day one.

• Establish the "Single Source of Truth": Develop and implement enterprise-wide data policies, standards, and controls with a primary focus on the data consolidated within the new platform.
• Build the Enterprise Data Catalog: Lead the development of our data catalog and business glossary, making data discoverable, understandable, and trustworthy for everyone: business stakeholders, business analysts, data engineers, and AI teams.
• Champion a Culture of Data Quality: Define data quality rules and integrate them into the ingestion pipelines, ensuring continuous data quality monitoring and remediation.
• Design the Data Governance Framework: Be a core member of the Data Lakehouse implementation team, embedding governance principles (quality, modeling, security, lifecycle management) directly into the architecture and ETL/ELT processes.
• Be the Strategic Partner to our AI Teams: Provide them with the clean, structured, and trustworthy data needed to train and deploy models that will change our business.
• Ensure Compliance: Enforce security and data access policies within the new platform, guaranteeing compliance with internal standards and external regulations like GDPR.

Who We're Looking For:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Architecture role.
• Deep knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) and data modeling concepts for Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, and Data Marts.
• Demonstrable experience implementing data policies and controls in a complex organizational environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of data modeling and business analysis.
• Hands-on experience with governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Dataplex, Ataccama) and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Advanced communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business leaders.
• Understanding of the data lifecycle in Machine Learning/AI projects.
