We are actively seeking an experienced data modeler to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data warehousing, database management, and database design patterns. Collaborate closely with business analysts, data architects, and database administrators to comprehend requirements, translating them into both logical and physical data models. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating the essential mapping files required for implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible / contributor for selection and setup of data modeling tools (such as Power Designer, Data Modeler, Erwin, others);
• Define and govern data modeling and design standards, best practices, and related development methodologies (standard column naming/data type/column order conventions, development practices, default values, historize typologies, technical/audit attributes treatment, surrogation methodology, stereotypes etc.) to ensure consistency of data models;
• Responsible of coaching, communication and onboarding of all related stakeholders with the data model standards defined;
• Ensure alignment of above-mentioned standards with data governance teams, technical architect, development teams and quality assurance teams or other relevant counterparties;
• Create and maintain logical / physical data model in line with defined standards according to best practices and internal modeling and development standards in order to ensure scalability, quality and reduced redundancy;
• Contribute to setup of data modeling tools in such a way that il allows for maintenance of data lineage (depending on other tools used for this purpose as well);
• Maintain lineage between business term and physical data model proposed (all layers of BI Solution Components);
• Optimize and update physical data model to integrate new data sources;
• Ensure data model is scalable to change of load frequency, data delivery methodology;
• Understand data flow between sources in order to design an optimal and performant data model;
• Work with analysts to understand and derive meaningful data relationships and translate them into appropriate data models. Guide analysts and requesters on model limitations and capabilities, business terms definition, conceptual data model, mapping the new sources to the data model;
• Training of consumer teams in regard to data marts data model or specific application interfaces;
• Design data mart data model taking into account particularities of the reporting tools used and align data model with Reporting architect;
• Prepare and produce releases of software components and maintain documentation;
• Contribute with the rest of the team to continuous improvements of the development process and documentation of standards;
• L3 support whenever required;
• Estimate duration of activities and provide inputs for testing or recommendations of extending automated model driven tests;
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies, detail design, development, quality assurance, user acceptance and launching into production phases;
• Stay up to date with the latest technology advancements relevant for domain of responsibility and contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and techniques;
• Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences;
• Act as a functional architect in all solution design discussions;
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams in order to properly define automated model driven checks.

Experience:

• 3 to 5 years experience as DWH analyst in complex projects within the financial services industry;
• 2 to 4 years experience as Data Modeler in complex projects within the financial services industry;
• Responsible person for defining and ensuring that data modeling best practices are adhered to;
• Previous experience with working with Data Modeling Tools;
• Proven understanding of design patterns and principles.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of banking processes and products;
• Strong Data Warehousing / Data Modelling / Database Design skills;
• Experience with Data Model versioning;
• Experience with Data Modeling Tools;
• Advanced understanding and experience in the area of data management and/or IT, data modelling technics, architecture;
• Good knowledge of data modeling technics and principles;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex functional requirements;
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion as well as acting as a mentor and consultant for internal consumers and analysts;
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work;
• Innovative in providing solutions, likes to take on challenges with calculated risk;
• Strive to constantly improve and automate data modeling processes and tools;
• Excellent communication skills (Must);
• Experience working with Agile approaches and best practices;
• Quick learner and highly motivated to keep himself/herself abreast with latest technologies.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to Have:

• Experience using Power Designed of IDA as a modeling tool;
• Strong understanding of software development best practices;
• Experience with Data Governance tools: Glossary, Data quality, RDM.
