This role combines traditional DBA responsibilities with cloud engineering skills to ensure high availability, security, and performance of database systems in a hybrid or fully cloud-based environment. What you will do:

o Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server instances on AWS(EC2, RDS, RDS Custom).o Perform proactive performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.o Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery strategies.o Implement high availability solutions (Always On Availability Groups,replication).o Lead migration efforts from on-premises SQL environments to AWS RDS.AWS Integration:o Deploy and manage SQL databases using AWS services such as RDS,Aurora, and EC2.o Utilize AWS tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and IAM for monitoring and security.o Implement Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK with TypeScript for database provisioning.• Security and Compliance:o Enforce database security policies, encryption, and access controls.o Ensure compliance with industry standards (GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2) and internal governance.• Operational Excellence:o Monitor system health and performance metrics.o Troubleshoot database and AWS-related issues promptly.o Maintain detailed documentation of configurations and operational procedures.• Collaboration:o Work closely with Cloud Operations and Application teams for migrations and integrations.o Participate in planning and execution of database modernization initiatives.

What you will bring:
