About the Role

Are you passionate about data and database technologies? We are seeking an experienced Professional Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. You will play a central role in designing, implementing, optimizing, and securing SQL Server systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, automate, and continuously improve a range of database services: MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL instances in on-premises, and AWS environments.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
• Design and deliver high availability and disaster recovery solutions using technologies like Always On, Log Shipping, and Replication to ensure required RTO and RPO. Perform regular restore tests and Disaster Recovery test.
• Implement and maintain robust monitoring to track database health, performance, and utilization. Develop and maintain automation scripts and jobs for administrative efficiency (PowerShell, AWS Automation, etc.).
• Plan and execute database migrations between on-premises and cloud (Azure or AWS) environments.
• Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams to optimize SQL code and database schemas.
• Document database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with MS SQL Server: installation, configuration, upgrading, and performance tuning.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server architecture, internals, and administration.
• Hands-on expertise with both on-premises environments and AWS SQL services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle Exadata is a strong advantage.
• Proven skills in backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure) and cloud migration strategies and tools (e.g., AWS DMS) will be considered an advantage
• Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL scripting, performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution planning.
• Experience with automation tools (such as PowerShell, AWS Automation) is highly desirable.
• Strong grasp of database security: role-based access control, encryption, and auditing.
