SGB-ALFA, part of the SGB-SMIT Group, is a specialized transformer manufacturer contributing to a sustainable global energy future through reliable and advanced transformer technology.

For our engineering team in Botoșani, we are looking for a Design Engineer for the calculation of distribution transformers. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of high-quality transformer solutions for global energy infrastructure.

Main tasks:

• Design and detail the winding assembly according to customer specifications based on electrical design
• Prepare all technical and design documents for the winding assembly; check and countersign calculation documents (4-eyes principle); create bills of materials and CAD drawings
• Create material data in the system according to applicable technical rules
• Coordinate deadlines and design features with sales, production control, and purchasing departments
• Provide technical supplier support, including further development of materials in cooperation with suppliers
• Accompany the manufacturing process in design-related topics (prototype supervision, production support, damage assessment)
• Support development projects with responsibility for technology and cost aspects
• Prepare customer documentation and maintain data in BOMs and drawings

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Energy or High-Voltage Technology
• Several years of professional experience in a related field is an advantage
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Basic knowledge of CAD tools and confident use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
• Structured and analytical working style
• Team player with a process- and cost-conscious mindset
• High level of personal responsibility and ability to think and act across disciplines
