ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 2000 hi h-performin en ineers, risk, and operations professionals.

We started out in 2015 as ING's software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

The mission

You will collaborate closely with enthusiastic, highly skilled colleagues from ING Hubs Romania and ING Bank Amsterdam. You will work on externally hosted (private cloud) infrastructure environments for Financial Markets -- a fast-paced, complex, and continuously evolving area where quality and resilience are critical.

You will work according to modern Agile practices within a complex and high-availability IT landscape.

As part of the Proximity Hosting Solutions team, you will help deliver, maintain, automate, and support a high-tech Market-to-Market, low-latency connectivity platform used by DevOps teams and Financial Markets applications.

Our team manages the complete infrastructure hosted in Equinix Data Centres in Frankfurt and operated by Getronics. This environment supports critical Financial Markets platforms such as KDB, Ullink, MarketView, GEP, and Horizon--core systems enabling ING to conduct global trading activities, including on the Eurex Frankfurt Exchange.

As a DevOps Engineer, your mission is to ensure our platforms remain stable, automated, secure, and ready to scale.

Your day to day

Business as Usual & License to Operate

• End-to-end operational and support activities

• Platform stability, performance, and reliability

• L2/L3 support for internal application teams

• CI/CD pipeline support and platform automation

Risk & Security

• Patch and vulnerability management (server & infrastructure)

• Infrastructure pentesting support and remediation

• Data center disaster recovery readiness

• Infrastructure, application, and security monitoring

Projects

• Storage and infrastructure migrations

• NetScaler / Citrix upgrades

• User Access Management outsourcing

• Ransomware resilience improvements

• Darktrace integration and tuning

• Capacity and performance management

What you'll bring to the team

• Strong delivery, change management, and organizational skills

• Good understanding of systems administration:

  • Windows Server, Linux, Citrix, SQL Server

• Experience configuring and maintaining infrastructure in data center environments

• Experience with monitoring and observability systems

• Understanding of storage management and backup/restore procedures

• Experience with:

  • Infrastructure pentesting processes

  • Vulnerability management

  • Security/compliance monitoring

  • Privileged access management

  • Disaster Recovery processes

• Experience working in a large, complex IT environment

• Minimum 5 years in IT support, operations, or DevOps roles

• Excellent English communication skills

Nice to have

• Networking basics: firewalls, routers, switches, connectivity

• Automation tools: Ansible, Puppet

• CI/CD tooling: Azure DevOps (pipelines, templates, YAML)

• Basic Oracle database knowledge

• Monitoring stack exposure: Zabbix, Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Alertmanager, Alloy

• Knowledge of Citrix Studio
