- The role is part of the Commercial team and is responsible for creating and implementing category strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and maximize sales, profitability and market share for Surfaces&Decors Category.
How you can contribute:
- Develop the necessary process capabilities and skills to ensure a professional transposition of customer and market information (from stores, from competitors, customers, web evaluations, profits) into business actions
- Define long term strategic commercial plans regarding allocated categories and company growth
- Ensure compatibility with tactical marketing activities to stimulate sales on all sales channels
- Responsible for stimulating profitable sales by managing range plans and range strategy and assortments in all sales channels, according to customer needs and limitations imposed by the format
- Lead the products portfolio being accountable for sales and margin performance and local vendors negotiation
- Sourcing activities in order to continuously improve product ranges in terms of quality and prices, both nationally and internationally, participating in specialized exhibitions, Far East sourcing collaboration
- Establish a culture in which market managers follow KPI indicators and proposes corrective actions for any shortcomings in the KPI by carefully managing the local marketing
- Build relationships with key suppliers and store managers to maximize sales opportunities and profit
- Manage trading activity, proposing special buys, end caps plan, cross sales and promo campaigns
- Deliver range change programs in line with local market needs and the overall Group change plan
- Ensure a functional relationship between category managers and cross-functional teams: supply chain, merchandising, pricing, marketing, controlling.
- Responsible for the overall management of the terminal stock to ensure that the product output is complemented by maximized sales and profit margins, with minimal stock losses
- Provide guidance, coaching and motivate all team members (category manager, buyers) to achieve extraordinary results and ensure succession in all key roles by identifying their talent, cultivating it and ensuring that the roles are filled by the most suitable people
- Create an organizational structure of the department (Surfaces&Decors) that will scale with the business
- Develop and managing a tream of Product Managers / Surfaces&Decors Category
- Ensure a process that guarantees the efficient and profitable implementation of unified and unique ranges in all sales channels
- Monitor industry trends on a regular basis, including new products, technology and pricing comparing Brico to industry players.
You’ll know that you are a good fit if you meet the following:
- Prior management experience (at least 5 years)
- Strong experience in delivering ranges to the market, working in DIY industry is an advantage
- Knowledge of customer centric retailing principles and the analytics of customer purchase behavior
- Ability to translate customer requirements into range recommendations
- Negotiation skills with proven result
- Highly analytical and robust commercial acumen
- Confident with decision making and project moderating
- Proficient in MS Office and reporting tools
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
