The Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing design and supervision services within the projects undertaken by WSP.

The Electrical Engineer reports to the Line Manager and performs his / her activities as part of a design team aiming to deliver specific projects in due time and of appropriate quality.

Job activities and responsibilities:

• Carry out discipline designs to required standards and quality;
• Coordinate with other Engineers concerning project requirements and timelines;
• Ensure that all designs are reviewed to the required standards;
• Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline;
• Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables;
• Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met;
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to the Line Manager;
• Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required;
• Contribute to the delivery of the BU strategy including supporting the companies approach to sustainability;
• Ensure QMS and Project Lifecycle compliance across team and projects;
• Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline;
• Calculate lighting levels within rooms using Dialux software;
• Establish power loads using different software packages;
• Lightning protection assessment;
• Prepare services drawings for electrical infrastructure, lighting, small power, fire alarm systems, security and IT containment etc. in 2D or 3D as required;
• Size and choose cable types using various software packages;
• Prepare electrical panels schematics;
• Coordinate with the Mechanical design engineers and all other relevant disciplines;
• Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the Mechanical and Electrical service to them, as well as understanding the client brief;

Job Requirements

• Mandatory educational degree: Relevant Engineering degree (Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering /Building Services or similar);
• Minimum 3 years’ experience of designing electrical systems in a variety of building types;
• Project experience should include participation from the design phase through the final construction close-out;
• Detailed technical knowledge of design capability;
• Familiarity with Romanian and European design standards and Health and Safety regulations;
• Good experience of writing specifications, design, and detailing of Electrical systems;
• Working knowledge of computer aided design package AutoCAD, Revit and other specific software used to perform electrical design tasks;
• High proficiency of English reading, writing and speaking;
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit – ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
• Analytical and problem solving skills;
• Good communication skills and able to disseminate information well to others;
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy;
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit at a highly proficient level;
• Experience in cable sizing programs (Ecodial/EDSA/ETAP/Amtech or similar);
• Experience in lighting calculations (Dialux/Dialux Evo);
• Ability to work in a team and demonstrate work and moral ethics;
• Ability to respect deadlines and achieve targeted results whilst working individually;
