PURPOSE OF ROLE:

  • The EMEA Legal team focuses on providing clear, accurate, relevant, and timely advice and guidance on a variety of legal topics relating to business sector, products, and services. The role sits within the wider Insight EMEA legal team while specifically supporting the Amdaris group entities. The team is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements. They manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to Insight’s business. They also connect with and manage third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors, design and deliver legal training to the business, and stay up to date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules, and regulations.
  • The EMEA Legal Counsel provides accurate and timely legal advice on legal and corporate matters which impact, or may impact upon, Insight and Amdaris. They are primarily responsible for providing high level internal legal advice and support for all teammates whilst ensuring legal compliance. In addition, the EMEA Legal Counsel provides legal advice and support to all areas of Insight’s business across EMEA, as well as providing further support to Insight’s wider global business on a variety of legal matters.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver timely and high-quality legal advice to the business in a practical and commercially focussed way in relation to all relevant matters which reduce risk, resolve issues, and maximise opportunities for the business to deliver its goals.
  • Contribute to several legal projects and or legal change management activities, act as the ‘subject level expert’ around applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up to date legal knowledge on all areas relevant to Insight’s business.
  • Advise internal clients (e.g., Sales, HR, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Services Delivery teams) and senior management around legal issues and risks, company policies and procedures, compliance with laws, and contracts.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and provide training on this matter to the wider Insight business.
  • Assist the business to resolve disputes and manage day to day litigation.
  • Flag potential legal risks to senior management and propose practical mitigation options to ensure that risks are avoided and or reduced.
  • Respond to legal requests from internal clients and summarise and communicate legal concepts and recommendations that can be clearly understood and acted upon.
  • Ensure broad legal compliance including compliance with Data Protection legislation (GDPR) and the EU AI Act.
  • Assist with legal research and projects as directed including managing legal issues that may arise in existing commercial relationships, compliance training, Human Resources matters, and the handling of legal disputes.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level
  • High level of written and spoken English (and fluent in local jurisdiction language)
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite
  • Holds relevant professional Legal qualification in local jurisdiction
  • Ability to exercise judgement and deal with complexity and non-routine issues including problem solving
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills – ability to liaise at all levels
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating IT contracts (e.g. cloud services, application development, professional services, and managed and outsourced services etc.)


Nice to have:

  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Previous experience of working in an in-house legal capacity
  • Previous experience of working in the Technology industry, ideally within a systems or solutions integrator environment
  • Experience of working within a globally diverse environment, showing an understanding of and keen interest in equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Experience of using AI tools including LLMs (e.g. Gemini, MS CoPilot, ChatGPT etc.)
