XPNT Capital Management is a hedge fund focused on international equity markets, based in Amsterdam. We are building a focused, research-driven investment firm grounded in rigorous fundamental analysis, independent thinking, and intellectual honesty.
We aim to build an exceptional equity research team in Bucharest with high standards, strong analytical talent, and an AI-native research process from day one.
We are hiring for a 4-month Equity Research Traineeship in central Bucharest, running from September 1 to December 31.
The traineeship is designed for recent graduates and candidates with 1–2 years of work experience who want to build a serious career in investing in public equity investing. It is a demanding analytical apprenticeship for people who want to develop real investment judgment.
You will work closely on the core building blocks of the research process: building financial models, understanding businesses, industries, valuation, and the key drivers behind company performance.
Strong performance during the traineeship can lead to a full-time role as a Junior Equity Research Analyst from Jan 1, 2027 onwards.
This is a full-time, fully in-office role based in central Bucharest. We do not offer remote or work-from-home positions.
Joining at this stage means entering early. Strong early hires will help shape the standards, habits, and culture of the team.

Cerinte

We will consider recent graduates (bachelor or master) and candidates with 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
Typical backgrounds include finance, accounting, economics, business, and other analytically demanding fields. CFA candidates will be viewed positively. Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds will also be considered if they can demonstrate exceptional analytical ability and genuine interest in investing and financial markets. We care more about raw ability, rate of learning, and strength of character than about polished credentials alone.

Responsabilitati

Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining financial models and dashboards
- Researching listed companies, industries, competitors, and value chains
- Analyzing annual reports, quarterly results, investor presentations, and other public disclosures
- Writing and organizing high-quality research notes and internal materials
- Engaging with companies through calls, meetings, and conferences
- Supporting idea generation and internal investment discussions
- Using AI tools effectively to improve speed, depth, and research quality
The role combines structured analytical work with independent thinking. It requires both precision and synthesis.
