We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Financial & Accounting team in Bucharest. The role will have functional exposure to Group Finance / Headquarters abroad.Main responsibilities:The Financial Controller will be responsible for performing financial control activities over the company’s economic and financial operations, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, internal policies and procedures, approval flows, and financial control requirements.Financial Control & ComplianceVerify financial and accounting documents and supporting documentation related to economic and financial operations;Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, internal policies, procedures and rules;Verify compliance with established document and approval flows;Verify that expenses and financial operations are within approved budgets and limits;Review documentation related to purchases, contracts, orders, invoices and payments;Verify compliance with contractual conditions and deadlines relevant to financial and economic operations;Perform checks of cash and cashier operations, including reconciliation with existing records;Review documents and records related to the company’s receivables and liabilities;Compare financial and accounting information with available accounting and operational records;Assess the existence and compliance of internal controls over financial and economic processes;Identify errors, inconsistencies, irregularities, deficiencies and financial risks.Reporting & Corrective ActionsDocument findings resulting from financial control activities;Prepare control reports, control notes, statements and other relevant documentation;Highlight identified non-conformities, deficiencies and risks, including their potential impact;Report significant findings and issues to the hierarchical superior;Recommend corrective actions and improvements to financial processes and internal controls;Monitor the implementation of agreed corrective measures;Follow up on delays or non-implementation of corrective actions;Maintain accurate records of controls performed, findings and corrective measures.Internal & External AuditSupport internal and external audit missions within the scope of the position;Provide requested documentation and information during audit and control activities;Provide explanations regarding financial controls and findings within the area of responsibility;Monitor the implementation of measures resulting from audits and controls;Escalate significant issues identified during audit missions to management.Job Requirements:License in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a relevant field;ACCA / CPA certification;Other professional certifications in finance and accounting are an advantage;Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, financial control, financial audit or a relevant financial-economic field;Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a financial control, financial audit, financial accounting or similar position;Solid experience in reviewing financial and accounting documents and operations;Very good knowledge of IFRS and good knowledge of local GAAP;Good knowledge of financial control principles, internal controls and audit processes;Experience in reporting to a Group / Headquarters abroad is an advantage;Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors is an advantage;Experience in a multinational company is an advantage;Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with ERP / financial accounting systems and implementation;Advanced / fluent English, both written and verbal;Please submit your application to [email protected]. *Only selected candidates will be contacted.
