Join Orbotix as a Financial Controller – Brasov or Valencia (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team and support our growing international operations across Europe. 

This role will be instrumental in building a robust financial foundation for Orbotix as we scale our activities in Romania and Spain, while maintaining close collaboration with teams in Poland and Ukraine. You will work hand in hand with our CFO and with another team member already supporting the Finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and strategic financial insights that guide decision-making across the company. 

As Orbotix continues to expand, you will take ownership of financial planning, reporting processes, compliance, and cross-departmental financial governance—helping shape a finance function that can support the company’s next stage of growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Reporting & Controlling 

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 
• Own the month-end closing process, including reconciliations and variance analysis. 
• Maintain and improve internal reporting frameworks for management and stakeholders. 

Budgeting & Forecasting 

• Lead the budgeting cycle and coordinate quarterly re-forecasting. 
• Monitor financial performance against budget and identify deviations proactively. 
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions. 

Compliance & Internal Controls 

• Ensure full compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP) and tax regulations. 
• Maintain and strengthen internal control systems across entities. 
• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors. 

Cash Flow & Financial Operations 

• Monitor cash flow, liquidity needs, and working capital optimization. 
• Support treasury activities and payment approval workflows. 
• Contribute to process development to increase financial efficiency and accuracy. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with Operations, HR, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure financial alignment. 
• Support the CFO with ad-hoc financial analysis, dashboards, and decision-making tools. 
• Contribute to scaling financial processes and tools in a fast-growing environment. 

Requirements 

Must-Have Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, ideally in a start-up or tech-oriented company. 
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting standards (IFRS preferred). 
• Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. 
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and familiarity with financial systems/tools. 
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities. 
• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment. 
• Previous involvement in audit processes or working with external auditors. 
• Knowledge of Romanian or Spanish financial regulations is a plus. 
• Experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, or industrial technology environments.
