About the Role

For our Client, a global automotive manufacturing company, we are looking for an experienced professional for the position of:

FINANCE CONTROLLER (Romania, Timisoara).

This is a strategic Finance leadership position within an international automotive manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will have full financial responsibility for the Romanian manufacturing entity and will act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to the Plant Management Team, supporting business growth, operational excellence and strategic decision-making.

The role reports directly to the Group Finance Controller located at the Global Headquarters and involves close cooperation with senior international leadership within a highly structured corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Full financial responsibility for the Romanian manufacturing entity, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, statutory reporting and internal controls.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes in accordance with IFRS and Group Accounting Policies.
• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts and financial analyses supporting business decisions.
• Monitor plant performance, profitability, manufacturing costs and operational KPIs while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Lead Plant Controlling activities, including product costing, standard costing, inventory management and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Support investment projects (CAPEX), including financial evaluation, investment tracking and post-investment reviews.
• Act as Finance Business Partner to the Plant Management Team and provide financial support to Operations, Supply Chain and other key functions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax requirements and Group Finance policies.
• Lead, coach and develop the local Finance team.
• Cooperate closely with Regional and Global Finance teams on monthly business reviews, forecasting and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, ICWA or an equivalent internationally recognized finance qualification is required.
• 8–12 years of progressive Finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive industry experience is mandatory.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Plant Controlling and Manufacturing Finance.
• Excellent knowledge of Product Costing, Standard Costing and Manufacturing Controlling.
• Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO) in a manufacturing environment is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and Group Financial Reporting.
• Previous experience working within multinational manufacturing organizations, reporting to regional or global corporate finance teams, will be considered a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a business partnering mindset.
• High level of ownership, integrity and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is essential. Romanian language is not required.
