Role overview:

We’re looking for a motivated Software Developer who is ready to take on maintenance and incremental development work in C++, C#, and JavaScript for a complex university platform (timetabling, scheduling, attendance, room booking). The role also includes using and extending existing AI tools within the SCDL workflow, with guidance and full support from the client.

What you’ll do:

• Gradually take ownership of maintaining and evolving existing platform components (C++, C#/.NET, JavaScript/Angular) used by universities for timetabling, scheduling, attendance, and room booking
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and optimize legacy modules developed in C++/C++Builder and .NET Framework / ASP.NET MVC components
• Contribute to the gradual modernization of the system, including migrating relevant elements to .NET 8 / ASP.NET Core and Angular
• Implement and extend AI capabilities already initiated, with direct support from the client
• Develop workflows, AI agents, and proof-of-concepts to validate new ideas and technologies
• Work with LLMs, vector databases, RAG patterns, evaluation tools, and orchestration frameworks to build robust and reusable AI solutions
• Build accelerators, components, and reusable templates for company-wide AI initiatives
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand business problems and quickly prototype functional solutions
• Document and actively contribute to AI playbooks, best practices, internal processes, and experimentation guidelines
• Monitor AI ecosystem developments and translate emerging capabilities into actionable recommendations for the platform
• Use Azure DevOps for repository management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments (including Windows installers)

What we’re looking for:

• 1–3 years of experience as .NET Software developer
• Practical experience working with core web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
• Familiar with C++ and open to expanding hands-on C++ expertise using coding assistants
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering fundamentals and basic data preprocessing techniques
• Ability to work with pre-trained foundation models (e.g., GPT, Llama, Gemini)
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted code completion tools
• Practical experience with AI-augmented development workflows
• General awareness of Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts
• Awareness of open-source AI models and associated tooling
• Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn emerging AI frameworks and best practices

Nice to have:

• Exposure to DevOps or MLOps activities
• Participation in competitive programming, coding challenges, or mathematics olympiads, and showing strong problem-solving skills and a drive for excellence
