As a
Global Head of Medical Operations (m/f/d) at Hanseatic Maritime Health, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of all healthcare services across shoreside clinics, telemedicine operations, and shipboard medical teams. Your role ensures the seamless connection between ship and shore through consistent clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality medical care for seafarers and passengers while supporting the organization’s growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities

• Drive initiatives that strengthen clinical quality and safety across clinics, telemedicine services, and shipboard medical teams.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of all medical staff to ensure adherence to clinical protocols.
• Lead continuous improvement of processes and services supporting seafarer and passenger health.
• Oversee the efficiency and quality of medical services and promote a strong market reputation.
• Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, maritime health standards, and internal procedures.
• Ensure all medical facilities - onboard and ashore -are properly equipped, staffed, and prepared to deliver high‑quality care.
• Oversee medical management, audits, and corrective action planning to support ongoing improvement.
• Manage end‑to‑end medical inventory processes, including forecasting, procurement, storage, and distribution.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers to achieve quality and cost efficiency.
• Oversee the development and execution of the annual budget related to medical services and inventory.
• Monitor expenses, forecast operational needs, and optimize cost structures across medical operations.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities to medical staff.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation.
• Identify and pursue collaboration and partnership opportunities that support the organization’s mission.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Academic degree, preferably a medical degree (MD).
• Proven leadership experience in healthcare, ideally across clinical, telemedicine, or maritime medical settings.
• Knowledge of digital health systems and telemedicine platforms is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, medical governance, and quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
