About us
Paralela 45 is one of the largest tour operators in Romania, with a long-standing presence in the market. We're building a modern commercial structure powered by diversified revenue streams — and we're creating a brand-new position to lead this area.
The role
As Head of Ancillary Services, you'll own the entire portfolio of ancillary products at Paralela 45 — from existing services like FleciGO (cancellation flexibility, through travel insurance and transfers, to new products you'll build from the ground up. This is a role that combines product strategy, sales, and P&L — you own the outcome, not just the project coordination.
You report directly to the Board.
What you'll do
- Define the ancillary revenue strategy as a standalone business line with its own P&L;
- Develop the existing product portfolio (FlexiGO, insurance) — pricing, terms, segmentation, product variants;
- Design and launch new ancillary services — from concept, through business model and legal setup, to launch and optimization;
- Own attach rate and conversion — what does it take to get more customers buying these services?
- Work closely with e-commerce, the call center, the product team (packages), marketing, and legal;
- Negotiate contracts with partners (insurers, technology vendors, product partners);
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms for ancillary revenue at board level;
- Analyze market benchmarks (tour operators in PL, DE, airlines, OTAs) and recommend new directions;
- Run A/B tests on pricing, bundling, and communication — in the cart and at the point of sale.
What we're looking for
- 5–8 years of experience in roles combining product, sales, and revenue — ideally in travel, airlines, OTAs, e-commerce, or fintech;
- A track record of growing revenue from ancillary products, subscription services, cross-sell/upsell, or similar;
- P&L ownership — you read the bottom line, not just activity metrics;
- The ability to combine strategic work with operational delivery — in this role, you design the product and you take it to market yourself;
- Comfort working with data (SQL, Excel, BI tools) and making decisions based on it;
- Experience working with legal, product, and IT teams on product rollouts;
- Knowledge of the travel market or adjacent sectors (aviation, travel insurance, OTAs) — a plus;
- Fluent English — you'll read ToS documents, international benchmarks, and speak with vendors.
