We are looking for a detail-focused problem solver who enjoys working with data and being part of a highly performing international team. This is for a fix term contract (12 months), based in our office in Cluj-Napoca.

The Category Analyst supports strategic sourcing initiatives by analyzing spend data, market trends, supplier performance, and category-specific metrics, to help develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, improve supplier relationships, and enhance procurement efficiency. The role also includes supporting Indirect Category Managers with market research, contracting, supplier coordination and performance management.

In addition, the role will be a part of the Sourcing Center of Excellence and will assist in executing sourcing initiatives to enable Emerson to procure good and services at the best overall cost of and highest quality.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies in collaboration with Category Managers.
• Research market trends and benchmark supplier capabilities, in order to develop an impact assessment in support of the category strategy.
• Assist with monitoring supplier performance and compliance.
• Prepare reports and dashboards to track category performance and present them to regional/project teams in calls/meetings with different world areas.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Legal team members to ensure alignment on sourcing initiatives.
• Manage sourcing events, including supplier identification, negotiations, and award recommendations.
• Perform necessary functions in given projects (project management, data management, supplier management).
• Conduct market analysis and finalize business requirements to initiate sourcing event in our platform.
• Develop baseline, costs and saving estimate for the sourcing event by working with Finance and Category Advisory Teams.
• Analyze list of approved suppliers to identify those who meet Emerson's diversity requirement for the sourcing event. Finalize the list of suppliers that will participate in the sourcing event per the competitive bidding guidelines.
• Evaluate suppliers for diversity criteria and compliance, creating NDAs as needed.
• Collect and analyze supplier responses, check for quality against needed requirements. Conduct final negotiations with supplier based on strategy. Develop & Present Award Recommendations to Stakeholders, award business to supplier.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 4 years of experience in procurement operations, global sourcing, supplier management or strategic planning. Background in Indirect Procurement with exposure to Facility Management or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) categories will be is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in using Excel and Power BI.
• Experience with ERP (for example: SAP, Oracle) systems and e-sourcing platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Openness to travel occasionally (<5%) for training purposes or to complete site/supplier visits based on project requirements.
• Fluent in English.
