Role overview: The IT Application Operations Specialist for Microsoft Fabric ensures the stable, secure, and efficient operation of the Microsoft Fabric platform. The role acts as platform operations lead without personnel responsibility, coordinating external service partners and overseeing daily operations. In addition, the position provides 2nd-level support for the platform and contributes to continuous service improvement.
Tasks:
Platform Operations & Oversight
- Operational ownership of the Microsoft Fabric platform, ensuring availability, performance, and stability
- Coordination and governance of external service partners, including SLA and service quality management
- Monitoring of platform health, capacity usage, and costs, including optimization measures
- Planning and coordination of platform changes, upgrades, and feature rollouts
- Definition and maintenance of operational standards, processes, and documentation
2nd Level Support (Microsoft Fabric)
- Provision of 2nd-level support for incidents and service requests related to Microsoft Fabric
- Analysis and resolution of complex issues related to pipelines, data refreshes, capacity, and performance
- Execution of root cause analysis and support of problem management activities
- Collaboration with 1st-level support, external service providers, and Microsoft support
- Support of user onboarding, access management, and environment setup
Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in IT application or platform operations
- Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure-based data platforms
- Solid understanding of cloud operations and Azure fundamentals
- Experience coordinating external IT service providers or managed services
- Knowledge of ITIL-based operational processes (incident, problem, change management)
- Strong analytical and structured troubleshooting skills
- Clear communication skills and a high level of ownership and reliability
