Your Impact

As our IT Consultant for Smart Factory Applications, you’ll collaborate closely with manufacturing and operations teams to design, implement, and support cutting-edge digital solutions. By connecting business needs with innovative technologies, you’ll play a key role in driving automation, operational excellence, and continuous innovation across our global Smart Factory landscape.


What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a strategic partner for operations and manufacturing teams, identifying and delivering digital solutions that drive efficiency and automation.
  • Design, implement, and manage smart factory applications and platforms (e.g., MES, IoT, data automation).
  • Bridge business and IT by translating operational requirements into robust, scalable IT solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for Industry 4.0 enablement and support project delivery from concept to rollout.
  • Ensure integration of smart factory solutions into the broader IT landscape, including cloud and infrastructure environments.
  • Apply project and service management best practices to ensure quality, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure timely, high-quality solution delivery.
  • Support supplier evaluation, selection, and contract management in partnership with corporate IT purchasing.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, technical compliance, and process reliability on the shop floor.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and challenge the status quo to develop sustainable, future-ready solutions.


Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you bring advanced expertise across several critical domains:

  • Smart Factory & Industry 4.0 Concepts: Strong experience with MES, IoT, and automation technologies within manufacturing environments.
  • IT Infrastructure & Cloud Concepts: Solid understanding of IT architecture, connectivity, and cloud integration.
  • Manufacturing Processes & Operational Technology: Familiarity with production processes and shopfloor systems, including PLCs and SCADA.
  • Business/IT Consulting & Requirements Engineering: Ability to translate operational needs into IT requirements and guide stakeholders through implementation.
  • Project Management: Proven skills in leading end-to-end IT and OT projects using Agile or Waterfall approaches.
  • Vendor & Service Management: Experience in managing solution providers, ensuring SLAs, and optimizing performance and cost.
